Tying the Knot

As of yesterday I have been married for one whole month! Even though a month isn't even that long, I still can't believe it's been that long since we said "I do." My wedding day was wonderful, hectic, exciting, and laid back all at the same time.  We knew we wanted something that was rustic and simple and I definitely think it turned out that way.

Although a lot of family disagreed Caleb and I definitely wanted to do a first look. I'm so glad we did too. Once I saw him everything felt much calmer.

The wedding ceremony took place at a little white church in the middle of nowhere that my husband's family built around 20 years ago. I really love that we were able to hold our wedding somewhere sentimental to us. My grandpa was the officiant, which is something he had said he wanted to do since I was a little girl. That in itself was a dream come true for me.

The reception took place at his mom's house in a barn. The same exact barn we had our first kiss in! His mom put so much work into that barn the months leading up to the wedding. We honestly could not have made this wedding possible if it wasn't for all of the work she did.
Pretty much all of the wedding was very do-it-yourself.  The cake stand was made by my husband and his dad. I made all of the cupcakes the night before with the help of my mom. All of the side dishes were made by my mother-in-law and our entree was a smoked pig that a family friend cooked for us. I wish I would've taken some pictures of everyone running around the days leading up to the wedding. Although it was a bit stressful, I wouldn't change a thing about it. I feel like everything that went into the wedding was even more special because we could see all of the hard work that everyone put in to make it possible. Plus, we got such a hands on experience in making sure the wedding turned out exactly how we wanted and I think that truly made the experience better for everyone who came.

I'm not really sure why, but the part I was the most nervous for was the dances. I was so scared I would mess up, but once I got out there time went by so fast I wish it would've lasted just a little bit longer.

I'm sure there's so much more I want to tell y'all, but I would need a whole book to write everything I want to. I wish you could've been there to see it in person! Our wedding was definitely one of the greatest days of my life. I am so incredibly blessed to have the family I do and I'm so thankful I get to spend the rest of my life with the man of my dreams
