Autumn To Do List

Yesterday marked the official first day of Autumn! As I'm sure you already know, this is my favorite time of year. From the yummy foods, cozy fashion, and the holidays. I love it all! This fall there are a couple of things I want to accomplish. I thought today I would share those things with you.
Just making this list made me so excited thinking of all the wonderful memories that are still to come. Is there anything that you're excited to do this autumn?

 Happy Fall Y'all!

How I Organize My Planner

If I could only choose one school supply to have each year it would definitely be a planner. Since using one it has been an absolute lifesaver when it comes to managing my life. Today I thought I'd share how exactly I organize my planner as well as a few tips. I am currently using the largest Day Designer that Target had to off. I love how much space it has, so that I can write everything down.
One important thing I like to do is to use different colored pens to separate parts of my life. For example, I use pink for school things, blue for my blog, and purple for things that are just for me. By using colors I can quickly see what item goes to what, as well as keep it a little more organized than if it was all in black.

Although I don't use it as much as I should, the month page is a great place to jot down big items so you can see everything at once. Whenever you need to schedule something, you can just flip open to the month and see everything you have in the future.
At the beginning of each week, usually Sunday night, I like to plan out my current week. Usually I'll write down all my classes, meetings, and appointments on the left hand column. Below that is where I list all of the homework I need to complete that day. On the top right of the day there is a spot to write your to do's which, if you know me, a to do list is my best friend. Finally, below the to do I will write today's blog post. I am currently doing a 30 day yoga challenge so that goes there as well.

The great thing about a planner is you can customize it fit your lifestyle. If you need more space to list your assignment, then you can totally list that. Just because the planner says a section is for something specific doesn't mean you have to follow it. Think of it instead as more of a guide than a set system.

To help add extra space, pop down a post-it note or two. Not only do they give you more room to write everything you need, but also it adds color! Who doesn't love that? Your planner should reflect your personality so have fun with it! Use stickers or washi tape to spice up different parts of the pages. There's no rules since it is YOUR place to organize. As long as it makes since to you, than it's good to go!

I am considering doing a plan with me video, especially for October because I have tons of stickers I want to use. Leave a comment below if that's something you'd be interested in! I hope that you're able to incorporate some of my tips into your own planner. If you have tips of your own, let me know. I absolutely love hearing how people organize their own planners.

Bath & Body Works Candles Haul

Hi everyone! I hope y'all are doing fantastic today
. Yesterday morning my mom called to tell me about the amazing sale that Bath & Body Works was having on their candles! All 3-wick candles were marked down to only $12.00 each! Plus they were offering a $10 off coupon when you spend $30 or more, so I just knew I had to take advantage of this amazing deal. Especially since I practically live for their fall and winter scents.

I went in with a limit off only three, even though I would've bought them all if my husband and my wallet would've allowed it. After smelling practically every scent they had to offer, these are the three that both Caleb and I loved the most.

First is the scent leaves. It definitely is a fall scent without the classic pumpkin or cinnamon smell. It reminds of raking leaves with my dad in our yard or jumping into the stacked piles with my siblings.  It is described as a blend of golden nectar, red apple and spiced berries. It's a very fresh smell with just the perfect hint of sweetness. Also the lid to this candle is an absolutely gorgeous bronze with leaf designs. Does anyone look at the designs on the lid when purchasing candles or is it just me?

Second is the scent Marshmallow Fireside. Now I knew before going into the store that I didn't want to leave without this one. The first time I smelled it I was in love. It's described as smoky wood, sweet vanilla, and toasted marshmallow. I couldn't agree more. It smells exactly like you're huddled around a fire and the notes of vanilla give it that added sweetness that you can't resist. It's currently burning at my desk as I type this!

Now this candle Caleb fell in love with, and as soon as we got home he pulled it out of the bag and lit it. The label says it is a blend of McIntosh apples, smoky woods, and toasted marshmallow. I think these three scents are a common theme in all the candles we choose. :) This one is similar to the toasted marshmallow, but the apple gives it a little bit of a spice that sets it apart.

As the weather gets cooler, I just love the coziness that lighting a candle can add. Did you guys get a chance to hit up Bath & Body Works during their sale? If so, what did you get? Also, what are some of your favorites scents for this Autumn?

Day Trip to Nashville

Hello lovelies! On the Saturday before Labor Day my husband and I woke up and knew we wanted to go on a day trips. Neither of us have ever been to Nashville and since we only live 3 hours away we figured "why not!?" So we dropped the puppy off at my parents and hit the road!

Downtown Nashville is so beautiful. I loved looking at all the little shops and bars that lined the streets. It's so wonderful how each city has its own little flavor that you can't find anywhere else.

One of the biggest reasons I wanted to visit Nashville was to see the Parthenon. I am a huge lover of Greek Mythology so I just knew I had to visit this beauty once I knew it existed. (You can thank the Percy Jackson books for that (:  )

The moment we pulled into the park I was on complete awe.  Even though it's not the original, it still transports you in a way that feels like you're walking through Greece. I couldn't stop snapping picture after picture of the architecture. Ever little detail was incredibly beautiful.
I convinced him to let me get a photo of just him. Scruffy beard and all.
Once you get into the building there is a lower level that has intricate sculptures and painting. Unfortunately you're not allowed to snap any pictures inside that part of the building.

After we just couldn't wait any longer we darted up the stairs to the main feature:
The moment you lay eyes on her you fall into this complete state of awe. I don't know why, but you just feel this overwhelming wave of power and strength coming from her. It's simply amazing. I loved watching as people came up from the lower level just to see there reaction; usually consisting of a lot of "wows."

Coincidentally, the park was also having a music festival just a walk away from the Parthenon. We stayed there for a bit enjoying the music, glancing at the tents they had set up with items from local shops. I didn't get a chance to take any pictures from this though.

We ended our day with a pina colada snow cone and headed back home. Exhausted but oh so happy with our trip together.  The Parthenon was beautiful and I really enjoyed getting to experience what Nashville has to offer. Hopefully next time I go back, I'll get a chance to see the Opry!

I hope you all had just as much fun on labor day weekend as I did.

Fall Wardrobe Must-Haves

These last few days the weather has been a bit chilly and oh, man am I in love! The cooler the weather gets the closer we get to the first day of Autumn! Autumn is my absolute favorite season; from the holidays, warm drinks, crunchy leaves, and of course, the amazing fashion. Since Autumn is less than two weeks away, I think it's the perfect time to start putting together a wardrobe for the coming season. Here are a few of my fall wardrobe must-haves.
Trench Coat | Monogrammed Vest | Plaid Scarf | Plaid Shirt | Chambray Shirt | Cross body Bag | Knitted Scarf | Grey Fit and Flare Dress | Jeans | Riding Boots | Striped Top | Black Skirt | Longchamp Bag | Cozy Socks

I know many of these items are already in my closet, so I am excited to mix in some new pieces this fall. What are your must-haves for fall this year? Are you ready for the chillier weather or still holding onto the sunshine of summer?  I hope you all are having a fantastic Friday and I'll see you in the next post!

Tips to Destress

With school back in session pretty much everywhere, things might be starting to get a bit stressful. Trying to juggle school, work, family, friends, and even just keeping yourself together can start to take a toll. That's why it's important to take care of yourself and de-stress every one in a while. Here are 8 ways you can combat stress and enjoy some "me" time.

1. Pamper yourself
With a bubble bath, face mask, or even a full spa day
2. Cuddle with a pet
No one know how to make you feel better than your furry friend
3. Indulge in your favorite treat
Sometimes all it takes to feel better is by treating yourself to something you might not usually eat
4. Find a hobby
Find something you love and just do it
5. Journal
Let out all your thoughts and worries on paper. You'll feel better once its out
6. Breathe
Just breathe. Close your eyes and a take a deep breath. Doesn't have to be full meditation but bring yourself back to this moment and breathe.
7. Digital Detox
Technology is great, but occasionally it's a good idea to turn off your phone, close the computer, and just disconnect.
8. Exercise
Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy :) I personally love yoga, but do whatever works for you. Just a few minutes can make a huge difference

What I'm Reading in September

Hey y'all! Yesterday was the very first day of September so I'm sure y'all know by now what that means. It's time for me to share this month's book! School started a week ago for me and I am already crazy busy, so hopefully I can find the time to finish this months book because I am definitely eager to read it.

What I'm Reading: A Hopeless Romantic by Harriet Evans

Laura Foster is a hopeless romantic. Her friends know it, her parents know it - even Laura acknowledges she lives either with her head in the clouds or buried in a romance novel. It's proved harmless enough, even if it hasn't delivered her a real-life dashing hero yet. But when her latest relationship ends in a disaster that costs her friendship, her job, and nearly her sanity, Laura swears off men and hopeless romantic fantasies for good...or so she thinks.

I was recommended this book by a friend of mine so I thought I'd give a try. I have read a book by this author before and it was a fun read, so I'm hoping I'll like this one as well. Have you guys read it before? I'd love to hear what you thought!

What are you reading at the moment? Any suggestions for a future read of mine?
I hope you all are having a fantastic and I will see you all in the next post!
