Memorial Day Weekend | Weekend in Photos

Hey y'all! How much are y'all loving this long weekend? Caleb was lucky enough to get Saturday-Tuesday off. We've been enjoying this time together as a family.
Friday we took a quick trip to the mall to check out their sales. We honestly didn't buy anything though, other than a cute onesie and pants set for Baby Isla.
Saturday was the first day our pool opened up at our apartment. We obviously had to stop by for a swim. There's nothing that feels more summery than laying out by the pool. Especially up here in Washington I am extremely grateful for sunshine. I could just soak it up all day. I know we'll be spending a lot of time here these next few months.
Then on Sunday we drove to the drive-ins. Drive-in movies is probably one of Caleb's favorite things about summertime. We saw Pirates of the Caribbean and Guardians of the Galaxy. Well I attempted to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. I ended up falling asleep an hour into the move and woke up just in time to see the last 5 minutes. Guardians though was SOOO good. I am in love with baby Groot! Who isn't, honestly?
We didn't get back home until 4am which was super fun. I was out as soon as I hit the pillow.
Now today is being spent working on our patio. It got pretty nasty over the winter & spring, so we are working on making it perfect for the summer.
I'll post the final makeover here on the blog soon!
Other than that we've got pulled pork going in the crock pot and the Bachelorette is on tonight! Who knows, maybe we'll even stop by the pool again.

I hope you had just as much fun this weekend as we did. Leave a comment telling me the adventures you got up to! I'd love to know :) Happy Memorial Day everyone!

It's a . . . | Baby Herron Gender + Name Reveal

As I'm sure most of y'all know, this past Wednesday was our anatomy scan. This baby was quite a pretzel when the ultrasound tech started searching; hand and feet both up by face, legs crossed, head turned sideways. I have no idea how it's comfortable for them. Finally after much some prodding and leaning me back we were able to get them to move for some decent pictures.

All parts are there and healthy. Thank the lord! As for gender, if you haven't already guessed by the photo...
It's a GIRL!!!!
We are so very excited to meet baby girl this October. I get all bubbly just thinking about the floral and the bows.

As for her name, we had decided on a little girl's name about a year and a half ago when we first started TTC. I'm in love with it. It's so nice to be able to start calling them something other than them/they/it. So ya ready for it?
Isla Makai Herron
I think that's all for exciting news to share with y'all! We're halfway through now. Ahhh I'm so excited!

Laundry Baskets and Monkey Husbands | My Weekend in Photos

Hey y'all!
How was your weekend? Here at the Herron house we had a super fun weekend full of play and productivity. The weather here is FINALLY turning into sunshine and warm days! Hallelujah! (It's suppose to hit almost 90 today!) It's perfect timing as I am starting to feel a million times better with this pregnancy sickness. So we wanted to take full advantage of it all!

It started in the morning with me deciding to tackle this GIANT laundry mess that had accumulated in our closet. I'm telling y'all it was bad; like barely able to open the closet bad. I couldn't tell what was clean and what a dirty for a lot of it, so I washed it all. 😖

All this plus our bedsheets! It feels good though knowing it's all fresh and smelling nice.
I also wanted to redo our budget and actually open my planner again. When I got sick I kind of just ignored my bank account and planner. Not in a dangerous way, but an "I just couldn't care to keep track of it all" way. I'm a list girl/planner though so I needed to take control of it all again.

My husband through this all was waiting patiently for me to finish because he wanted to go fly his new drone. Saturday night at like 9:30pm we made an impromptu trip to Walmart for cottage cheese. (These pregnancy cravings!)  We passed the toy section and he saw some kids looking at the RC vehicles. My husband, being practically an 8 year old at times, said "Those kids look like they're gonna buy a drone! I'm an adult and I have money. Can I get a drone?" 15 minutes later he's walking to the check-out counter, drone in hand. So all day Sunday he was excited to take it to the park to fly.
It is kind of cool honestly, because it has a video camera so we can stream/take photos as he's flying it. He was loving it until the battery died....above a tree.
 Thus the climbing began!
Ratchet straps and dog leashes were used...
Undocumented was the super nice man who must've been watching us from across the street for the hour and a half we were messing. He came over with 2 ladders and a 10ft 2x4 so Caleb could climb up there and finally knock it down! I was clutching my hands praying at the sight of him 20ft into the tree, but God had it and it turned out alright in the end.
Night ended with us enjoying a very summery dinner(I was craving corn, hubby wanted hot dogs) and then hitting the hay.

It seems like a really simple weekend, but honestly those tend to be some of the best ones! What did y'all do this weekend? Anyone else spend theirs up in a tree like my husband?

Week 14 to 19 Bumpdate

Hey again!
Well these last few weeks of pregnancy have been crazy! I was starting to feel really great around week 15, week 17 everything took a u-turn, and now at almost 20 we're getting back on track. I remember being just a few weeks and thinking how crazy it'll be when we get to the halfway mark. Now we're practically here!
. . .
Nausea Sucks. Seriously. I thought I was in the clear, then 2 weeks ago my body decided "let's throw up EVERYTHING you could possibly ingest!!" So for a whole week I ate nothing, but gatorade and like 3 bites of applesauce a day. Which 90% of the time didn't stay in my belly long. Fun right?! It was the same thing I had dealt with back in week 6-10. Today I am thankfully feeling "normal" again. Thank God it didn't last much longer and praying we don't have another bad spell.

Kicking Up a Storm.  Oh boy this baby is soooo active. That's one thing the Dr says each heartbeat and ultrasound. This baby is a mover and I can finally feel it. (They're even moving around in there as I type this ❤ ) It's crazy, but even Caleb has felt/seen their little bumps. It seems so early, but I guess we just have an hyperactive babe.

Baby Gear. We really haven't bought much of anything for Baby H. In total we have 2 stuffed toys and 2 cloth diapers. We wanted to wait until we know the gender until we start buying things. However, seeing the cute little diapers and imagining baby H using them is cute and exciting. I think once we buy the crib it'll definitely feel more real too.

Gender. This Wednesday is our anatomy scan!!! Then we'll get to know if Baby H is a he or she. We already have a name picked out for a little girl. If it's a boy though who knows. We have our top choices, but haven't found anything we love. My guess is a little girl. Caleb just shrugs when I ask, so who knows what he's thinking. Last time I got an answer it was girl so we'll go with that. :)
